With July bringing a fresh wave of Korean dramas across genres, K-drama fans have plenty to add to their watchlists this month. From Namkoong Min’s return in a tense romance thriller to the long-awaited second season of "A Shop for Killers," these five new releases offer something for every mood, whether you are after romance, fantasy, mystery or full-throttle action

The Husband (July 4)

Opening the month is KBS’s The Husband, a romance thriller led by ratings draw Namkoong Min, with Lee Seol starring as his estranged wife. Also streaming on Disney+, the drama follows Kang Tae-joo, a neurosurgeon turned hospital director whose life falls apart when his wife is kidnapped just before their divorce. As he races to save her while becoming a suspect himself, Tae-joo is dragged into a dangerous web of crime, deception and unresolved emotions.

Dream to You (July 13)

For something warmer, ENA’s Dream to You brings together True Beauty heartthrob Hwang In-youp and Reply 1988’s Lee Hye-ri in a romantic comedy about first love, lost dreams and second chances. Hwang plays Woo Soo-bin, a celebrated film director who returns to Korea after finding success, while Lee stars as Joo Yi-jae, a reporter who has long buried her own filmmaking ambitions. Their reunion after 15 years slowly reawakens old feelings and forgotten dreams.

The East Palace (July 17)

One of the month’s biggest fantasy releases, Netflix’s The East Palace blends period mystery with supernatural horror. Nam Joo-hyuk stars as Gu-cheon, a demon-slaying swordsman who can move through the spirit world, while Roh Yoon-seo plays Saeng-gang, a court lady who can hear the dead. Summoned by the king, played by award-winning actor Cho Seung-woo, the pair enter the cursed East Palace to uncover its dark secrets, making this a must-watch for fans of darker K-dramas.

Spooky in Love (July 18)

For another romantic release, Netflix’s Spooky in Love gives the ghost-seeing heroine trope a playful rom-com twist. Park Eun-bin stars as Yeo-ri, a hotel heiress haunted by spirits, while Yang Se-jong plays Gang-wook, a passionate prosecutor terrified of ghosts. As the two team up to solve strange cases, their relationship gradually turns into romance. Former Wanna One member Ong Seong-wu also joins the cast as Kang Min-hwan, the ambitious CEO of CL Raymond Hotel, who hides darker intentions.

A Shop for Killers Season 2 (July 22)

After leaving viewers wanting more, Disney+’s A Shop for Killers returns after two years for its highly anticipated second chapter. The action thriller follows Jung Ji-an, played by Kim Hye-jun, as she takes over Murthehelp, the underground weapons mall once run by her mysterious uncle, Jung Jin-man, played by Lee Dong-wook. With Jin-man back after faking his death, the pair launch a full-scale counterattack against Babylon, the global mercenary syndicate tied to Jin-man’s dangerous past.
