Art Basel Hong Kong starts a conversation on living with contemporary art in today’s Greater Bay Area

As part of Art Basel Hong Kong’s Conversations programme, an offsite panel titled “Living with Contemporary Art in Today’s Greater Bay Area” was held in Shenzhen, co-hosted with the Hong Kong Tourism Board and supported by Parkland One Shenzhen Bay Center as the official event venue partner.

Moderated by Tai Kwun curator Ying Kwok, the talk brought together Hu Xiaoyuan, a Beijing-based artist whose first solo exhibition Veering on show at Tai Kwun addresses ultimate questions of individual survival and the meaning of life, and renowned Hong Kong-based art collector William Zhao.

The trio discussed the evolution of Hong Kong’s art scene, art collecting trends, as well as the value and impact of established fairs like Art Basel. Following the panel discussion, attendees, who included VIPs and art aficionados, gathered over cocktails and canapés, all while taking in spectacular views of the city’s skyline.
