The Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II Cup was held at Sha Tin Racecourse for the 18th consecutive year. The event ranks among the world’s top Group 1 races and attracts top horses. The chief executives of the Swiss horology house and its Greater China branch presented the cup and HK$20-million prize with the help of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. A few evenings earlier, a gala party took place at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal to celebrate the race.
