Netflix to release Blackpink documentary in October

How did Blackpink become one of the world’s most popular K-pop girl groups? If you’ve already binged all the episodes of 24/356 with Blackpink on Youtube, you’ll be happy to know that Netflix will be launching a brand new documentary about Blackpink on 14 October 2020.

Blackpink’s fandom has been growing exponentially, especially after their latest collaboration with Selena Gomez on their hit single, “Ice Cream”. The new documentary, Blackpink: Light Up the Sky, is going to be a treat for new Blinks, especially, who don’t already know all there is to know about the popular quartet.

The documentary will follow Blackpink members Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé through their four-year journey – from their song-recording process to their breakthrough performance at 2019’s Coachella. Besides behind-the-scenes footage of the girls as trainees and performers, the documentary also gives viewers an insider look at their day-to-day lives.

Besides the Blackpink documentary itself, Netflix users can even change their profile icons into Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, or Lisa.

Blackpink: Light Up the Sky is directed by Caroline Suh, who is the same woman behind the food docu-series, Salt Fat Acid Heat. Look out for Blackpink’s documentary to premiere on 14 October, just days after the group’s debut album goes live on 6 October.
