Capella Taipei finds its perch close to Songshan International Airport and near Xingtian Temple, a revered site known for its immaculate and traditional ambience. The hotel’s proximity to vibrant art districts like Taze-Neihu, Songshan Culture Park, and Huashan 1914 Park. It is positioned as the epicentre of local art collections, celebrating Taipei’s status as a centre of modern art and culture.

Its decision to find a foothold in Taiwan comes from its vision to entwine luxury with a destination that offers historical and cultural experiences that go beyond a mainstream city trip.

“We’re thrilled to unveil a new chapter of bespoke luxury in Taipei, a city that harmoniously blends cultural vibrancy with a burgeoning luxury market,” says Cristiano Rinaldi, president of Capella Hotel Group. “Capella Taipei is not just a hotel; it’s an invitation to immerse in a culture rich in heritage and to create memories that resonate beyond a stay.”

Capella Taipei is also uniquely located near Taipei Arena, a hub of pop music and performances, adding a modern vibrancy to the area. This proximity aligns with Taipei’s leading position in Chinese music, offering guests an immersive cultural experience.

Designed as an urban retreat, Capella Taipei provides a serene escape within the city. Surrounded by lush greenery, the property – designed in consultation with the Mori Building Group from Tokyo, Japan – offers stunning views of the city and surrounding mountains, setting it apart from other hotels in Taipei.

The property is conceptualised by André Fu Studio in the image of a “modern mansion”. It is a personal reflection of the designer’s view of the city. A modern city that juxtaposes between a world of vibrancy and poetic locality. Fu’s vision incorporates concepts of contemporary comforts, lifestyle entertainment and well-being while also capturing the feeling of a retreat, all within an urban location.

The designer adds, “It is a re-telling of my personal journey discovering Taipei. Flanneuring around local neighbourhoods and wandering into the lush tree-lined DunHua North Road where the hotel fondly resides, I was absorbed with the poetic environment – It captures the feeling of an escape nestled within European boulevards, a soulful atmosphere that evokes an antithesis to the urbanity one might typically perceive Taipei.”

Capella Taipei is an interfusion of the hotel’s vision to combine tradition, discovery, individuality, and a twist of the unexpected. It serves as a present-day narrative of the capital city that it lives in, and what modern travellers are seeking for.
