New Speakeasy-Style Bar Foxglove Is Mrs Pound’s Latest Venture
The team behind Mrs Pound in Sheung Wan has opened a second 1950s speakeasy-style bar: Foxglove. And like Mrs Pound, patrons will first have to find the hidden entrance – by pressing the right button inside an umbrella shop. Ming Fat House based the bar’s vintage train, plane and cruise-ship design around character Frank Minza, a wealthy adventurer with a taste for rare spirits, who wanted to win back his beloved with the speakeasy, named after her favourite flower. The drinks menu includes rare cognac and spirits, and guests can enjoy live jazz in the main lounge. Food highlights include the lobster tagliatelle, beef and foie gras sliders, Maine lobster roll and roasted guinea fowl.
