Who said you needed an expensive or professional camera to take great pictures? The iPhone Photography Awards™ (IPPAWARDS) is proof that you don’t.

Now in its 13th year, IPPAWARDS has been showcasing photos taken by iPhone users from around the globe in the first and longest-running iPhone photography competition. With entries from over 140 countries around the world, winners are selected by jury members and awarded in different categories including ‘Photographers of the Year’.

The 13th annual iPhone Photography Awards (IPPA) have just announced their winners across 18 categories – with even a category winner shot on an ol’ iPhone 4. Scroll down to view some of the best pictures from the competition: 

Grand Prize winner and iPhone Photographer of the Year

The winner of the year goes to UK-native, fine art street photographer, Dimpy Bhalotia, for her image Flying Boys. Captured with an iPhone X in Banaras, India, the striking image features three boys and their expressive limbs filling the grey sky.

1st Place: Photographer of the Year

Titled No walls, Belarus photographer Artyom Baryshau shot this on iPhone 6 in India while watching the paint dry.

2nd Place: Photographer of the Year

Untitled is a photo that Chinese photographer Geli Zhao captured on a typical laundry day in Chengdu, Sichuan. Shot on iPhone XS Max.

3rd Place: Photographer of the Year

Titled Sheikh of youth, Iraqi photographer Saif Hussain shot a black and white portrait in his capital city of Baghdad on iPhone X.

Hong Kong-based photographer Leo Chan was awarded first place in the ‘Sunset’ category for his gorgeous capture of the Dolomites on iPhone 11 Pro.

Next, this image taken by Omar Lucas was crowned first place in the ‘People’ category and taken with just an iPhone 4.
