Chloe Lyu reports on the Spring/Summer 2025 menswear collections by major fashion maisons
Fendi
The Selleria stitch was the undisputed star of Fendi’s latest collection. The technique was reinterpreted as a broken pinstripe suiting jacquard and threaded through linen and plush textures as a stripe or tonal FF logo. This obsession was also reflected in accessories, from the Peekaboo ISeeU Soft bag to the new zippered Baguette Double crossbody bag.
Giorgio Armani
Take a vacation, Armani-style! For this collection, neutral colors still dominated, and the whole show was filled with a relaxed summer holiday atmosphere. A V-neck T-shirt with palm-tree print was paired with a long- sleeve summer knit, in contrast to three-piece suits, button-up shirts and pocket squares. The monochromatic looks, which transitioned from taupe to midnight blue, showcased Armani’s classic colour palette.
Gucci
Sabato De Sarno’s second menswear collection for Gucci presented a fusion of city and beach styles through several transitional looks. Starting with a muted green leather overcoat before moving on to net polo shirts and cropped blazers, and eventually culminating in plenty of patterned beach shirts, the style jumped between urban and seaside oases.
Hermès
Véronique Nichanian drew inspiration from the transparency of water and the gentle breeze off the ocean this season, using muted colours such as slate, glacier blue and lychee to show a relaxed and chic sense of quiet luxury. Sleeveless leather vests, collarless blousons and calfskin sandals were all standouts.
Isabel Marant
Robin Galiegue inherited the brand’s bohemian core this season, compiling rock and folk elements to create a sexier attitude for the Isabel Marant man. Black leather pants were the staple, paired with statement belts, red and black vests, and flannel shirts tied around the waist. Paisley-style florals were printed on shirts or deeply cut tank tops, creating a rock wardrobe infused with romance.
Jil Sander
Starting with a series of suits in iridescent fabrics with bold- shouldered tailoring, Luke and Lucie Meier looked back at Jil Sander’s power-dressing styles of the ’80s. Next came round- collared blouses and flapper- esque ensembles in lustrous satin with three-dimensional floral print details. There was also a square coat and shirt- shorts set printed with writing desk snapshots, vintage magazines and floral wallpaper.
