As Milan Fashion Week is coming to a close, the parade of Spring/Summer 2025 collections continues to dazzle us. This season, the runways were alive with creativity, reflecting heritage and future aspirations of some of the most renowned Italian fashion houses. Here’s a round-up of the standout collections from Tod’s, Sportmax, Gucci, Missoni, Versace, Valextra, Loro Piana, Ferragamo, Bally, Dolce & Gabbana, Diesel and Bottega Veneta.
Tod’s: A modern classic
Tod’s presented a collection that beautifully married tradition with modernity. The brand’s signature craftsmanship was evident in the luxurious leather pieces that dominated the runway. Expect to see a plethora of structured handbags and refined footwear, designed for the discerning woman who values both elegance and functionality. The colour palette was predominantly earthy tones, evoking a sense of understated sophistication that is quintessentially Tod’s.
Sportmax: Bold and playful
Sportmax embraced a spirit of playfulness this season with vibrant patterns and bold silhouettes. Sportmax’s use of colour was particularly striking, with bright hues juxtaposed against more muted tones, creating a dynamic visual experience that is both youthful and sophisticated.
Gucci: Casual grandeur
Under the creative direction of Sabato De Sarno, Gucci’s Spring 2025 collection was themed “Casual Grandeur.” Drawing inspiration from the sun setting over the sea, De Sarno showcased low-slung trousers, draped gowns, and sheer lace pieces that encapsulated a relaxed yet luxurious vibe. Signature elements such as the Bamboo bag were reimagined alongside new designs like the Gucci Go bag, blending heritage with contemporary flair.

However, it seems the emphasis is very much on shoulders and hips. Expect to see a mix of casual wear and more polished pieces that reflect Bally’s commitment to quality.
Dolce & Gabbana: Romanticism revisited
Dolce & Gabbana took a romantic approach this season, showcasing intricate lacework and floral motifs. The collection celebrated femininity through flowing silhouettes and delicate embellishments. What was apparent is “diversity”, whether in silhouettes or textures or shapes or intent, the brand has brought us an exciting collection for S/S 2025. The brand continued its exploration of artisanal craftsmanship combined with modern design principles. This season featured intricately woven textures alongside sleek silhouettes that celebrate form and function. The colour palette ranged from earthy tones to vibrant pops, ensuring versatility across collections.
