MoMA Seeks Truth in Fashion With Upcoming Design Exhibition
By#legendJuly 25, 2016
In creating an exhibition called Items: Is Fashion Modern? the Moma in New York is asking the big questions and breaking new ground. This is only the second time fashion has been the centrepiece of a Moma exhibition – the last time it occurred was in 1944 – making this a once-in-a-lifetime event. So while this event scheduled for December next year might seem a long way off, we recommend advance planning. Expect to see and understand more about 99 iconic pieces that have left their mark, including the then-groundbreaking designs of Levi’s 501 jeans and the little black dress. Each item will be accompanied by contextual materials, documenting the aesthetic and personal histories of the clothes. moma.org
