Krug has a cult following. So, it’s always an occasion when the 173-year-old House of Krug chooses to release Krug Vintage, a champagne crafted to capture the character of a particular year. The latest iteration is Krug 2002, a composition imbued with such an abundance of fruit that its makers have called it an ode to nature. It’s a charismatic little number: playful, delicate and not without insolent elegance. The palate hymns its prismatic way from red to citrus to black.
