While suits are the epitome of formal attire, they’re not confined to the world of courtrooms, boardrooms and black-tie events. There are numerous ways to make your two-piece more casual and comfortable, such as deconstructing it – your suit jacket and trousers do not have to be matching, nor do you need to exclusively wear a suit jacket with suit trousers and vice versa. Also try introducing a patterned or graphic tee to dress down your ensemble.

There’s much more to crop tops than a bare midriff. The abbreviated tops have become the ideal match for skirt sets, the perfect silhouettes for balancing out the proportions of a puffed-sleeve blouse, and, of course, a great counterpart to high-waisted pant. This summer, look to styles that go beyond the basic cropped tank or T-shirt. Take a cue from Sophy Wong and think chic details like ruffles and dainty straps, or interesting textures such as gathered poplin or rib knits.
